The Real Estate Collaborative (TREC) is a privately-held real estate investment group based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Founded in 2011 by Jennifer Roach as Indian Chase Partners, LLC., the mission of the company was to create value and long-term growth with each acquisition. TREC’s diverse portfolio ranges from rental units to farmland, and the company’s conservative yet aggressive, no-leverage approach has seen 50%–80% market value growth. TREC’s holistic strategy brings a broad spectrum of skills to traditional areas of real estate. Wall Street analytics and a refined design aesthetic inform their brokerage expertise and relationship-building practices, resulting in projects that meaningfully contribute to the surrounding community. 

TREC’s areas of operation include development, construction, brokerage, and finance. Quality, creativity, and technology are heavily considered while developing real estate that benefits from the collaborative approach. The advantages of scale are utilized and risk is mitigated by diversifying the scope of work across a number of strategic concepts. As a business, TREC’s mission is to create value and make a positive impact in the community by enhancing the way people live through designing and building high-quality, high-functioning, and low-maintenance properties that reflect the needs and opportunities of the area.

Jennifer Roach co-founded TREC in 2011 with her husband, John, with a plan to utilize their complementing skills to focus on identifying value and creating long-term investment strategies. Jennifer has taken an organic approach to grow TREC (originally Indian Chase Partners) into a company uniquely suited to embrace the ever-evolving world of real estate development and investment practices. As an involved member of the communities in which she works, Jennifer uses her knowledge of the local environment, her passion for real estate, and a formula combining financial acumen with a strong design aesthetic, to inform decisions and create projects with an inherent market value that appeals to the respective location’s inhabitants. Jennifer’s mission is to bring individuality and thoughtfulness to each project while creating beautiful, luxury properties, a process that creates jobs and contributes to local businesses. Jennifer brings 20 years of experience to the group. Prior to TREC, Jennifer worked for a commercial real estate development company in Chicago and New York, where she was a tenant representative before moving into business development, where she helped negotiate municipal incentives for clients. After moving to Greenwich in 2002, she turned her focus to raising her family but kept up on markets and cycles through the family investments. Jennifer attended Franklin University in Switzerland and holds a BA in communications, sociology, and cultural anthropology from Rollins College. Jennifer lives in Greenwich with John, their eight children, and their dog.

Investor / Advisor

John closely advises TREC’s team with years of Wall Street trading and management experience. As a leader in the mortgage derivative and securitized products markets, he brings a unique understanding of the real estate market that complements and often challenges the typical market data used in assessing properties. It is with John’s mentorship that TREC has developed its formula for success, examining each potential project against a clearly defined set of criteria to ensure maximum value. John launched and serves as CIO of Cross Stone Capital Management, where he explores new investment opportunities. Prior to that he formed and served as global head of DBCM, Deutsche Bank’s proprietary mortgage trading group. He also held roles at BlueCrest Capital and Greenwich Capital. 

John attended the New York University Stern School of Business and holds a BA in finance. He lives in Greenwich with Jennifer and their children.

Managing Broker / Developer

Before embarking on a career in real estate, Lou Battista served in the Navy and became an entrepreneur. Most notably, he founded an audio/visual production company in Chicago, which over the span of 25-years, matured into one of the largest corporate communications firms in the country. His team of creative specialists produced national sales meetings and shareholder events for Fortune 500 companies. 

Battista transitioned into the real estate world by representing luxury developers and builders in Rancho Santa Fe, California. As a broker, he exceled by developing the practice of being involved in every detailed step of a home's construction from foundation to final inspection. He prided himself in bonding with new owners until they called it “home.” After 20-years in the industry, he brings a wealth of experience to the TREC team. 

Battista’s philosophy and work ethic have remained steadfast; he continues to dedicate himself to learning each home intimately from the ground up so he may present each project in all its glory. His unique approach to in-house brokerage is the essential factor in connecting the right person to the right home. 

Battista is a licensed real estate broker in Connecticut, New York, Florida, and California.

Head of Construction

Jim Gasparino is a Greenwich native that has lead a variety of high-end residential construction projects within the area for almost 30 years. He began his career as a carpenter and eventually parlayed this experience into becoming a general contractor for the Pecora Brothers. It was in this role that he was exposed to all aspects of the industry, including scheduling, budgeting, and implementation. He was client facing and oversaw 25 carpenters. 

After having lived and worked in Greenwich for decades, he has a true insider’s perspective as well as invaluable relationships with the area’s industry professionals and suppliers. He truly understands homeowners’ needs at a technical level and brings a dedication to TREC that ensures all projects meet the demands of the area and surpass the expectations of the end user.


Project Manager / Office Collaborator

Page Hershey has lived in Greenwich for 20 years and is known for her project management skills in both the profit and non-profit sectors. After years of event planning, fundraising and team management for local charities, Page took her talents to the custom home building industry, with a passion for building, design and creativity. 

As a seasoned project manager, she has worked closely with builders, designers and landscapers, ensuring completion of projects on budget and on schedule. Page collaborates closely with the team of professionals at TREC, and is known for her attention to detail and impeccable client service. 

Page attended the University of Southern California, with a BA in Communication, Arts and Sciences. She has two children; her son who is a sophomore in college and her daughter will start her first year of college this fall
